"My Father's Business"

We are in business everyday of our life.
Everyone wishes to live on the cutting edge of business.
But I fear in religion and in church that there has been a misguiding, a misdirection of what the business of the church is. Should not we examine ourselves?
Religion today is big business.

The bottom line is, religion is big business. But my question is... is this the Father's business? My father's business is what really matters to me.

Oftentimes as religion goes, so goes the people of God.

There is nothing to take place or to compare to the Spirit of the Lord upon the people of God. I love the spirit of the Lord. An act of Congress cannot give you the Spirit of the Lord.

As the choir was singing tonight, if you lift him up, if you worship him and magnify him you will feel the Spirit of the Lord. We will not have Convention without the Spirit of the Lord. Preachers cannot preach without the Sprit of the Lord. My father's business demands that the church be anointed with the Spirit of the Lord.

I love to hear a man or a woman who has the unction of the Holy Ghost. The scripture says he has "anointed me to preach." Preaching is still God's plan to reach a lost world. We have come this far by preaching. The modern world says there's other ways to do it, and maybe there is, but let's not get away from the old fashioned preaching of God. Dramas will never take place of old fashioned preaching. Christian movies will not take place of old fashioned preaching. Give me a preach who can preach the word of God!

That is my Father's business - preaching, and teaching. He has sent me. The word sent stands out in my mind.

There's something about being sent on a mission. We have been sent on a mission. Let's not fail our God...

He called this Church, He calls a preacher not to build an empire.

It's easy for us to be derailed. But He has sent us.
Whoa be unto us for not being about His business.

The father's business is to heal the broken hearted. The father's business is the setting at liberty them that are bruised. If you've lost your way tonight preacher turn to { above scripture text }.

The business of the father - to declare war on the satanic powers of the world.

This is His church... I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH! The word church means "called out." I think this is very important. You're looking a preacher who believes in signs and wonders... We serve a God who has the ability to heal diseases.

We create an atmosphere where the Holy Ghost can move in this place... there's no telling what will happen in this place tonight.

It's a book of Acts church. You'll find our pattern, our blueprint in the book of Acts.

This is the fourth message at General Conference I've preached as General Superintendent. This is not an hour for the church to waiver. And I know the tendency, we love the Spirit and the move of God... but if we're not careful we'll ignore the very thing that brought us here. The Sure foundation... the Chief cornerstone. We cannot afford to do that. Don't you dare forget that we are a one God church. And we're not just saying one God as a mystical spirit; we know who our God is!

The church is built on a One-God foundation. Baptism in Jesus name is essential. It's for the remission of sins.

I'm going to preach until I move you [to preachers] out of your seat. You better teach it, and you better preach it. You need to preach it until your people fall in love with it. You MUST be about your father's business.

A child could understand the teaching of my father. Jesus would talk about a father, about a father with two sons, about a shepherd with sheep. Sometimes we pride ourselves with such intellectual knowledge... that we are getting away from the principals of the Father's business.

Let's come back. Let's teach to our people. Let's preach to our people.
We're a church that's pulling together. There's a spirit of love in this church.

Holiness and separation from the world is STILL God's message.
If anything in Hollywood would build the congregation then why are they [ those churches who bring Hollywood into the church ] bigger?

Preachers, if you don't teach it [holiness]... if you go week after week and month after month and never mention it, then don't expect your church to detest the world, because they'll take on the character of the world if it's never taught against. We need to go back to our churches with love and compassion and teach it and preach it like never before.

I happen to believe that this church is potent and powerful. This is not an hour for the saints of God to backtrack. We fought against Hollywood and the characteristics of Hollywood, and now we are going to take it back in? I think not!

I am about my father's business tonight and I'm going business like I feel he wants me to do. We are going to be the most powerful church in the world, but we are going to do it WITHOUT compromise.

You've got to teach it and you've got to preach it... and then you teach it again. You shout, have revival, fill the building, and then you come back and preach it again.

The UPCI didn't create the church, the church created the UPCI.
